Final Project

This final project is about awareness to the ribbons. The first ribbon is awareness for AIDS, The middle photo is the purple ribbon for domestic violence. Then the third picture is for breast cancer.  These subjects like AIDS, Cancer, and domestic violence can be hidden from the world. Just like tattoos and the naked body. We cover things up everyday to project the image we want people to see.

Back of CD

In this assignment we were able to create a CD. I decided to make my CD around the idea of my senior portfolio. The first picture is my cover on the right side and the inside of the cover on the left. So when a person opens my CD they will see my contact information.  Then the bottom picture is the very back of the CD. Then on the back of my CD is a list of my work.

Surrealism Art Review

Traditional Surrealist: Joan Miro
"The Garden"

Joan was a Spanish painter and was the creator of the most original surrealist painting in the 20th century. Miro cited the vibrant colors of the Fauves, cubism, Catalan folk art and Romanesque frescoes of the Spain as his influences.

In terms of the title with the and the actually painting. A person is able to get the understanding the garden that is in front of them. This painting was made by oil on canvas. I personally like all the colors that are used within the painting. Your eyes are attached to the different parts of the painting and the viewer is able to follow it really nicely. I think the meaning of the this painting is, everything doesn't have to be normal. Take the ordinary and make it the unusual.

Digital Surrealist: Amrei Dizon
"Love, Lust, Scrutiny"

This is about a woman's fear to come out and accept her sexuality. She exudes gayness but she fears the many eyes that haunt her. She dreads scrutiny, but doesn't realize that the haunting eyes are just a product of her paranoia.
According to the artist's statement.

I really like how the artist used both pencil/paper and digital graphics. Also I can agree with the artist statement. From first looking at the image I thought about women and their insecurities. How woman feel judged everyday if they do not look a certain way. But in the world today a woman had to come into her own and own her body.

Elements and Principles of Art Assignment

COLOR: Aperture:  f 25.0  Shutter Speed: 1/200   The reason why I like this photo is because of how the colors stick out compared to the background. I created this image by using the surface blur, sharpening, and quick selection tools.

LINE: Aperture:  f 13.0  Shutter Speed: 1/200  I am attracted to this photo because of the attention to the organic lines in the door. I was able to get rid of the paint chips on the side of the building. Then use the surface blur tool to make the lines on the door as a focal point stick out.

FOCAL POINT: Aperture:  f 3.8  Shutter Speed: 1/200  This picture was base on focal point. I was able to focus on just the bottle in order to achieve the blurred effect of the background. In order to enhance the focal point I placed a surface blur and a gray scale on the image. Then I went in with the erase to bring back the sharpness and color of the Gain bottle.

VALUE: Aperture: f 4.2 Shutter Speed: 1/125 The picture was about value in a subject. I like the value that I was able to create in the bricks. I changed the picture in to black and white. As well as darkening and lightening different value in the picture.

PATTERN: Aperture:  f 5.6  Shutter Speed: 1/200  I like this photo because of detail in it. The only edits I did to this photo was change it in to gray scale and sharpened some of the letters on the keyboard.
